Bistre A9 powder is designed for professional maintenance of flues in chimneys, stoves, inserts and boilers that use wood or coal. It works by gradually breaking down the soot residues that build up as a result of incomplete combustion, thereby reducing the risk of chimney fires and loss of efficiency.

The product is applied directly to glowing embers. Through a chemical reaction during combustion, it releases oxidising agents which break down the soot deposits clinging to the walls of the flue. It can be used as a treatment once signs of build-up have appeared, or as part of a regular maintenance routine to prevent the accumulation of deposits.

Applications:

• Wood-burning or coal-burning stoves
• Open or closed fireplaces
• Inserts, cookers, wood/coal-fired boilers

Recommended use:

• Preventive: 1 dose of 20 cc once a week
• Curative: 1 dose a day for 7 days
• Wood-fired boilers: up to 10 weekly doses, depending on the output

Precautions for use:

• Do not use on cold fireplace
• Wearing gloves and goggles is recommended
• Product classified as an oxidising agent and an eye irritant (CLP H272 / H319)
• Do not store near organic or combustible materials

Precautionary statements:

• P210 - Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.
• P220 - Keep away from clothing and other combustible materials.
• P264 - Wash thoroughly after handling.
• P280 - Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.
• P305+P351+P338 - In case of contact with eyes: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
• P337+P313 – If eye irritation persists: get medical advice/attention.

Important: Bistre A9 is a cleaning product. Under no circumstances does this exempt you from the requirement to ensure your chimney is swept mechanically by a certified professional.
