Inside the heating circuit, there is blackish magnetic sludge that damages the boiler's spare parts. To avoid boiler maintenance and purchasing spare parts, you can use a preventive device called a magnetic filter.
Operating with magnets, the magnetic sludge pot collects ferromagnetic metallic sludge that needs to be purged later.
To install this filter against ferromagnetic pollution, you will need:

At the bottom of the boiler, you need to unscrew the return pipe and place the magnetic filter between the two.
For this, using the sludge remover we have here (10539), cut the copper pipe to install the olive fitting. Then, refill the system with water and start the boiler.
First, you need to check the manual to know how long to cut.

After that, just put the filter in the middle

Okay. What is that in the middle?

It's a magnet. The water in the heating circuit flows around it, and the magnetic particles stick to the magnet.
Stop the boiler, Polo, please, and remove the filter.
SAM:
So if I remove the magnet like this... Is all of this the black sludge from the circuit?
THIERRY:
You got it all. Now you can rinse it to remove the particles from your sludge filter and reinstall it on your boiler.
THIERRY:
I advise you to clean your sludge pot at least once a year to preserve your system. However, it doesn't prevent a professional check; nevertheless, you will have less risk of having to change one or more parts of your boiler.
