Pressure relief valve- SIME - 6040211

The heating safety valve is a key component of the boiler. It is used to monitor the pressure in the appliance and prevent excessive water pressure. The relief valve allows the excess pressure to escape. This SIME product is compatible with various models of certain boilers:

To replace the safety valve:

1. Start by switching off the circulation pump to lower the pressure in the heating circuit
2. Close the valves on the circuit and drain the boiler
3. Then open the safety valve, the pressure gauge will drop to 0
4. Remove the old valve, install the new valve and ensure it is fully watertight
5. Remember to check the water supply after reopening the ball valves
6. Restart the circulation pump and bleed the system

Advice from our technicians:

• Please take care not to confuse the 3-bar valve, which protects the heating circuit, with the 7-bar valve, which handles the domestic hot water system
• Use a seal to ensure it remains watertight

To extend the life of your boiler, prioritise replacing parts rather than replacing the entire appliance
