Why Install an Air Conditioning Support?
Unless you have a window unit or a monobloc air conditioner, when you buy an air conditioning system you'll end up with an indoor unit and an outdoor unit.
The indoor unit helps ensure comfort by cooling the room it's installed in. On the other hand, the outdoor unit operates the whole system thanks to the compressor, which acts as the air conditioning motor and expels heat from the home to the outside. While very useful, its operation creates vibrations that can be felt throughout the home!
There is a simple solution: add supports that will absorb vibrations when your air conditioner or heat pump is installed on a roof or on the ground.
Another type of usable air conditioning support is the wall-mounted support. If there's no space to install an anti-vibration support for the air conditioner/heat pump, you can mount it directly against a wall!
The Wall-Mounted Air Conditioning Support
The wall-mounted air conditioning support allows you to install the outdoor unit of the air conditioning system outside to expel the heat found in a room to be cooled, such as a bedroom or dining room. This is a very practical solution for those who don’t have room to place the unit containing the air conditioning compressor on the ground or on a roof.
To choose your heat pump wall-mounted support or air conditioning support, you will first need to know the weight of the unit to be placed outdoors. Each support can hold a certain weight, so make sure to check how many kilos it can support. For example, there are supports rated for 120 kg maximum, 150 kg, or even 300 kg, all with different dimensions depending on your outdoor unit.
Since a compressor must always be installed vertically to ensure proper operation, you can buy a support that includes a level to ensure that the outdoor unit is not uneven.
The Ground Air Conditioner Support
When an air conditioner or heat pump operates, the power of the compressor causes the entire outdoor unit to move. It's a bit like a washing machine, with a drum that shifts it and causes it to knock against the ground. To prevent these issues, it is common to use rubber feet typically called rubber foot or bigfoot air conditioning.
The vibration-dampening block for the heat pump or air conditioner is made of rubber and is installed at the outdoor block of the air conditioning with bolting. This anti-vibration base is quite heavy, weighing between 5 and 10 kilograms, and can support between 200 kg and 500 kg per foot! This air conditioner accessory has a good chance of mitigating the noise nuisance from the vibrations of the air conditioning during use.
