The Ideal Heating System for a Building

| Réponses d'experts

Owning a home is one of the goals that many people aspire to achieve, often at a young age. Once they finally succeed in reaching this goal and obtaining their home, equipping it presents another challenge. Among these, the heating system is one of the elements that transforms your dream home into a comfortable shelter. Thus, you have the option to install the heating system suited to your home and budget. What are the categories for the heating system? What are the benefits of this installation?

The Heating System

A perfect home is one that encompasses all recognized comforts. Several elements contribute to this comfort. Thus, the heating system plays a significant role. Indeed, the heating system of a house considers all arrangements made to raise the temperature in a given room.

Heating operates in the building to increase or decrease thermal energy. It is not uncommon to see a house pleasantly warm while it is snowing outside. Heating improves domestic thermal comfort, allowing for a pleasant living experience within a building. Therefore, it is essential to know that this heating system still relies on a source of energy. But what types of heating exist?

The Different Categories of Heating

When discussing heating, there are typically two main categories: domestic heating and industrial heating. Domestic heating is of particular interest to us. It primarily concerns all places that constitute a living environment (rooms, water, and others...). It is the source of energy that determines the type of heating. Thus, we have among others:

  • Gas boiler: operating mainly on gas, it allows its user to save money but requires annual maintenance;
  • Oil boiler: as a replacement for gas, it produces the same effect but the equipment is somewhat more expensive than that of gas. It pollutes more than the gas boiler;
  • Heat pump: operating solely on electricity, it is 70% economical in terms of energy. Although it is more expensive than the boiler, heating with a heat pump allows for heating and cooling the environment, considering the ambient air.

Nonetheless, it should be noted that there are two essential components that constitute a heating system: the source and the emitter. While the source produces the energy to be used, the emitter allows for the transition between the source and the space to be heated.

The Gas Boiler: What Are the Benefits?

Among the existing types of heating, the gas boiler proves to be the heating option offering the most opportunities in its use. Initially, the installation costs are much lower than for other types. The same applies to the operational costs. The gas boiler provides such comfort regardless of the occupied room. Moreover, with technological advancements, gas boilers have been improved and now comply with ecological standards.

Building a new home requires consideration or installation of a heating system. Thanks to advancements, it no longer serves merely as a means of energy consumption, as strict energy standards have been implemented. Indeed, it is advisable to determine from the construction stage what type of heating would be suitable to achieve the comfort/energy balance.
